Act 2:40-47 tells us that the Church lived out its faith in the neighborhoods of Jerusalem. They were sincere and glad people, winsome and authentic. They served the people around them expecting nothing in return. It was God who added to their numbers daily those who were being saved. I think the power is in the relationship.

If Christ is making a difference in us, then it will affect the seeker who spends time with us. These things are only barriers, not the real stuff that causes a person to cross the line of faith.

It’s Sunday…and I am up early in preparation of a another day to make a difference my life and the lives of those around me. May God give us all the strength to do just that. And do it with a Christ like love that shows more than any other trait that we have.

Today I’m reminded that one Saturday morning some 2,000 years ago, surely there was a group of mixed-up, hurting, confused, sickly, tired, afraid, and desperate people. They had placed all their hopes in a man who claimed to be the promised Messiah. They were there when their hope was nailed to a cross. They watched their mentor and friend die a cruel death. What would they do now? What was next?

Are you feeling hopeless, afraid, confused, sick, broken or desperate today?

It’s Saturday, but Sunday’s coming!

Been praying, waiting and reading about people and sources that I get my information from. Am I surrounding myself with the right influences? How easy it is not to go to the one person (God), place (quiet) and book (bible) to get answers? Yes, I suck at doing any and all of what I just stated…….. but wouldn’t it be cool if we all took the lead from the one who created us? I’ve been encouraged by my reading of 2 Chronicles 18 and how the prophets reacted to questions from the King of Israel. It’s important to know who you are getting your “driving” instructions from.

What if your church closed up shop today? Would anybody care? Would anybody cry? Would anybody swear? Seriously… how many people would really give a care?

This is some crazy changes to wordpress dashboard..I thought I was just seeing things

Here are some things that I am excited about:

• We are celebrating communion at Crossroads tomorrow morning (it’s our first as a church family).
• Our worship team is going to ROCK tomorrow. Christmas music and an incredible communion song.
• More food at my brother-in-law’s house after worship tomorrow! Ugh!!!! Still stuffed from Thursday.
• Our first snow of the season fell today. Really helps puts me in the Christmas mood.
• Loving the cold weather, and laugh at  people who “can’t wait for spring”! That’s flippin’ hilarious!
• The Cowboys are back to winning football games. Way to go Tony Romo!
• Great college football games today, best time of the season.
• Our Crossroads community team, meeting for the first time and have incredible service ideas.
• God, not man, is in control! Can’t explain how that feels.
• Boomer Sooner, baby!
